The Manchester Climate Change Partnership, made up of private, public and third sector representatives, is recommending that all new developments should be net-zero carbon as well as being be required to deliver significant reduction in embodied carbon in construction from 2023
The city council has cautiously welcomed the plan to make the city an examplar for climate change action.
Luthfur Rahman, Deputy Leader of Machester City Council said "Manchester is committed to becoming a zero carbon city. The Partnership's Roadmap is a welcome contribition to the important discussion about how we will achieve this goal."
